11 February – 22 Bahman(Iranian calender) also known as the day of Iranian Revolution is the date of the final victory of the oppositionists againt the last monarch of Iran, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, in 1979.

The Iranian Revolution of 1979 might be the most crucial moment in the modern history of Iran, a turning point which changed the political position of Iran in the world tremendously . A  pro-Western monarchy was replaced by a religious conservative state what caused tensions between different groups in the Iranian society as well as between Iran and other nations all over the world.

In eyes of many Iranians, the revolution was the only solution to get rid of an incapable puppet  regime and the first step to independance, some others consider the revolution the end of a modern Iran, an obligation to live under a theocracy and some Iranians would describe it as climbing out of a hole and falling into the next.
